having a baby tommorow!
Wife just got back from her checkup. Her doctor says that she's too far along and her water is actually leaking. So he says it's best that we go in tommorow morning and have her water broken. This is my second one but I'm still just as scared as the first.
The other thing is I'm not sure how time I can get off at work. I just started a new job a few weeks. I talked to the HR lady (fuggin bitch I might add) and she said that since I haven't been there over a year I don't qualify for any FMLA (family medical leave act) leave and whatever days I take off will be penalized against me like sick days. Is this true? I thought it didn't matter and paternal/maternal leaves were always kind of given. And to top things off they just bumped me down to part-time status last week because I went back to school part-time so I don't see what the issue is. I just want to take about a week off so I can let my wife rest for a few days. What kind of rights do I have regarding leave? I just wanted to know before I go in and talk to them. I'm also open to name suggestions. It's gonna be a girl! |
