Skin problems?

Did/does anyone have skin problems as a teen or adult? If so, how did you and people around you react to it, and how did you treat it?

I had pretty bad acne from the time i was about 9 to the time i was about 13 and a half. I got made fun of at school and it really made me feel bad about myself. There is a new product called proactiv which kinda worked, i still use it but by itself it didn't really do TOO much. I take an antibiotic (perscribed by the dermatologist) called minocycline and i use Differin gel. Very effective. No more skin problems YAY!!! lol.

Anyone else have anything to share?

Proactive did freakin MIRACLES for my face... its worth EVERY penny.. BUT u have to BE consistant otherwise it will not work

I'm 20 and still have skin problems, at least I did until I got consistent with my mary kay anti-acne stuff. It's 5% benzoyle peroxide, which is the best stuff for acne. I never got made fun of for it, but it was seriously bad at some points, I've had nickel size zits before, and sometimes my whole face would just hurt like hell. Once I finally got something that worked I was so happy!

I’m just one of those lucky people who has never had a problem with my skin…the occasional pimple but that’s it!

Yeah it feels really good on my face but for some reason it didn't work miracles for me like it does for most people. How fast did it work for u?

Anyone who wants to try something new with your skin should ask your dermatologist about differin as well. Good stuff, i think its most of the reason my skin cleared up.

I got pretty lucky. I didn't break out much as a teenager, and now my skin is still rpetty clear. If I do get breakout, I usually catch it early, and put either some tea tree essencial oil on it, or Aveeno or Biore thing made for pimples. BUt I suaully don't have to do it much. Just don't get tempted to pick them, or it will make them mroe noticable and heal longer and also try tea tree oil.

I have always had a problem. Tried many things. It has gotten better since I got older but I still breakout right before my period. My mom had acne her whole life too until she went through menopause. So, I guess there is hope down the road for me.

I have the occational spot, and get break outs when i get stressed which isnt nice, yucky!

I also suffer from mild exzema (cant spell it!) but as long as my skin is kept clean and some cream applied its ok. My friends thought i was weird on holiday cos i showered so much, but i just called them smelly hermits

I've never really had a problem with acne. Just the occasional pimple.

I did get one recently and told a friend of mine that if I am going to get pimples, I want to look like I'm 16 again!!
