We've discussed Dubya's "Abstinence Only" program before. *Here are a few of the "facts" that such a program teaches:

B: Never ever never act too smart. (Choosing the Best series. Choosing the Best Soulmate [51])

8. Which of the following contains HIV?
B: Sweat and Tears. (WAIT Training [219])

*All of the above examples can be found in Representative Henry A. Waxman's study, "The Content of Federally Funded Abstinence-Only Education Programs," that highlights the inaccuracies and stereotypes being taught by President Bush's "abstinence-only" curricula.
I think this is criminal. *If you do, too, then check out this site:

Thats just pathetic... Man when is this fool gonna be eliminated from office? HIV is spread in tears and sweat? Women who want to keep a partner should never ever act too smart? WHAT THE f***? This is really pathetic. I must say I am so glad I dont have children right now. Except I am worried about what kind of misconceptions my poor 10 year old cousin is gonna get from this... I hope she'll be taught better by her mother.

Geez... I knew this one: 7. Women who want to keep a partner should do what?
B: Never ever never act too smart. (Choosing the Best series. Choosing the Best Soulmate [51])

In reality, this kind of nonsense is what I actually HATE.. and I rarely use the word. Perpetuating ignorance... hopefully there is a special level of hell for folks who pass this BS off.

It does answer a lot of questions that I've had from reading posts on here from young people. * If you tell them a condom is going to fail, why would they bother to use it? *They'll still have sex... more dangerous sex. *

And the one that got ME (surprise, surprise) is:

WHAT??!! *

The whole thing is a load of ignorance, homophobia, and misogyny. *I couldn't sign that petition fast enough!

One MINOR point: I seriously doubt that George Bush sits up in the White House late at night and writes this curriculum and these books and tests.

If you don't like the content, talk to the liberal educators and publishers and the NEA who produce a lot of garbage and do something about it other than attempt using it to prove that Bush is a stupid criminal murderer.

I love the leaps in logic people make.

Anybody attended any school board meetings lately?

That test was put out by the NARAL Pro-Choice America. Not that they don't have an agenda or anything right? *

I have looked into this issue and what I have found there are people that will cry out against his plan and those that praise it.

I agree we need to have the truth told to our kids in school. And part of that truth is to make sure kids know the dangers of having sex before marriage.

I sure don't think the old way of teaching sex ed has done much good now has it? Because if it was a sucess there wouldn't be a need for change.

i just wish... they wouldnt candy coat it... in schools now..be simple like this
You have sex with out a condom WITH bc.. you could.. Get this *list*
IF you dont use a condom at anytime these are the stds you can get.. *list*
BC does this *list*
Side Effects are *lists*
You can get these at your local.. blah blah
Abstinince is your only sure way.... you wont get any ofthese.. stds.. preg's whatever else.

kids just need straight FACTS of sex, not... sugar coated crap.. the whole abstinence thing yeah bring it up.. but really. FOCUS on condoms and BC and how things can be transmitted.. because i know alot of people who think if they give head they wont get anything.
they need to know, a cut.. spit in your eye... or... blood tha tgets in your eye.. even if its at a sports game gone wrong YOU CAN get aids.. or hiv through: eyes, cuts, sex...im sure there is more but i just dont know them LOL

EVEN if they are teaching abstenince.. the kids do have a right to know the other side.. and..it should be done based on FACT not because peopel are pansy's and dont wanna deal with it or talk about it.

Yeah but the only way to get approval and FUNDING for these programs is to go through the federal government. If Bush doesn't sign off on it, it goes no where.
