*tap, tap, tap*
ahem... is this thing on? Now I wish I'd watched more award shows so I'd know what to say... I suspect "Let's Party!" would get a deafening round of applause. But wait! I think I'm capable of a serious moment. I am, of course, honored. I noticed recently that I'm coming up on a one year anniversary posting to 101. To say that it's been an interesting year would be an understatement. An award granted by peers is probably the most valuable award, because those who give it understand it's meaning and truly know the efforts and accomplishments of the person they choose to receive it. It's a great award, but my rewards... the things that have "kept me going" are much different than a title or a gift certificate. The thanks and acknowledgement of those who've been helped by my thoughts and words are treasured. I've posted elsewhere that my "best day" on 101 was when a young girl I'd been dialoging with announced that she was going to stop having sex because she now saw that she was not ready. My other treasured reward is some friendships that have formed. I won't name names... as I recall we're not supposed to proclaim our undying lust publicly. LOL But seriously, some have been incredibly supportive when it counted. And I do like hanging around with people who know how to have fun. Which brings us back to partying. People who put time, energy, and thought into "giving advice" deserve a break. After all, this is heavy stuff. Those who take it seriously don't just post the first thing that pops into their head... they do try to understand the problem and offer the right help; not merely what they think others want to hear. They know that sometimes their advice will be unpopular and they will be attacked for giving it - either because people aren't ready to hear it or because someone else thinks they have a lock on the truth. But they do it anyway. They know they're not always right; but they also know that solving problems usually involves making people think, even when the thinking is painful. So I accept this award on behalf of all of those who do those things. Now let's party! I think it should be clothing optional. Maybe we can put the "is my dick big enough" and "how do I make her cum" questions to rest... at least while we party!
