Ok. I'm not trying to start any arguments, and chances are I won't even post much in this thread. However, I, like probably many others, have noticed many topics getting "taken over" by a discussion about religion. While I have absolutely no problem with people openly discussing their views, I feel it should have its own place so that the other threads can actually be about their topics.

So who's with me?

Note: the reason I said I won't be posting much here is simply that I don't engage in much conversation about religion. If you want to know why send me a pm.

See, that's why faith is such a personal thing for me. *I have strong faith, but that doesn't mean I don't have questions. *Questions that most "Christians" don't seem to want to hear. *Or, if they do bother to listen, then the preformed response is, "There are some things we just aren't meant to know." *PLEASE! *I think if I have the intelligence to ask the question, then it at least deserves a real answer. *Such questions?

*God created everything. *God knows everything. *God created Lucifer. *Why? *It follows if God knows everything, then He knew that Lucifer would rebel. *

*God created Adam and Eve. *God knows everything. *Then that means that God knew Adam and Eve would fall to temptation. *Which brings up.. (a) Why did He create them? (b) Why did He either NOT allow Satan into the Garden of Eden or why did He not just destroy Satan to begin with?

* Adam and Eve fell to temptation. *Why did God not stop there? *If you look at the figures on that World religions site, then currently 66% (3,996,000,000) of the world is going to Hell. *Wouldn't it have made more sense to stop with just two? *

* In order for man to gain Heaven, he must accept Jesus Christ. *For that to happen, Jesus had to die. *Why? *God is omnipotent... He can do anything. *Why couldn't He just remove sin from the world? *

* Lucifer was an angel. *I would imagine that means he's pretty intelligent. *God is ultimate power. *Why would Lucifer continue to fight when he knows he can't possibly win? * Would it be possible for him to reform? *And it strikes me as strange, BUT I've never heard another Christian ask this... shouldn't we be praying that Lucifer should repent? *Of course, we shouldn't be praying for him to win, but wouldn't the ultimate salvation be his reformation?

Okay, that's just a few little questions that occupy my mind sometimes...lol. * Oh, and lest anyone think I only "pick on" Christians, there are other questions for other beliefs. *Like...

* Most atheists would agree with the "Big Bang" theory of the creation of the universe. *Fine. I can allow that (the Bible isn't real specific on the details of exactly how God did it). *Now, the "Big Bang" theory states that all matter was compressed and with a giant explosion the universe was created. *Just one question... Where did all the matter come from in the first place? *Even if you subscribe to the theory that the universe expands and will eventually contract back into the original "ball" of matter and that this has happened many times, there still has to be an ultimate beginning. *That means that matter had to come from somewhere. *Where?

Great questions Oberon! The toughies that all people seeking after God have asked and struggle with. I look forward to discussing it all with you and anyone else who gets a thrill out of talking religion. I do hope we can do this without fighting and try to present some facts and not just personal opinions.

Damn I am becoming my mother more everyday! * I can't get into this now. Having a slumber party tonight. I am the mother of a teenage daughter now. If there was ever a reason to pray I believe it is now. *

I will say we seem to agree that the "Big Bang" don't make much sense at all. Even the scientist are coming to acknowledge that one. I say look into a newborns face, the beauty of a rose or the complexity of man and one can only conclude that someone of a divine nature created it all. We just need to know the why of the topic.

Yes, I would hope we could do this without fighting. *I think the rule of thumb is "While you may not share someone's belief, you should respect their right to believe it." *

As for the "Big Bang", it does make sense to me... up to a point. *It just doesn't seem complete. *Kind of like some of the religious questions I asked...lol.

I dunno, my religion says beer is good, bacon is good, sex is good, all three together is even better, so there is no really reason for me to use my religion much on these boards or any toehr ones.

The problem with saying that the big bang theory doesn’t work just because the matter would to have "just existed" is that in doing so u also rule out the theory of a supreme being for the same reason he/she/it would have just have to just exist out of nowhere, no way around it. Now that that’s been said I felt compelled to point out a contradiction made by tessie…her intent was good but she couldn’t even keep to her own wish

Well your right in a way HerPleasure06 that I what I said was an opinion. We aren't going to be able to discuss anything without having one and expressing it. I meant that I would like to see some reason behind the opinions other then its "just feeling."
