.. I know quite a bit.. i just need to be asked the direct thing about it.. umm Sweatlodge, do you wanna know why its built the way it is? what the stones represent? the colors? the directions? cause there is so much to a lodge, but what happens inside the lodge is basically Prayer.. its like a church... oddly hmm?, it kinda depends what you wanna know about whtt goes on inside the lodge, like.. what are the prayer clothes about? and the songs? or.. whatever? LOL i duno alot happens in them.
but yes you could loose weight, it rids you of toxins.. like a saunna might
well elders, they are more open about their spirituality, most elders have some form of Psychic ability, like healing.... or whatever, they are usally appointed by other elders.. to be come? its weird its liek a continuious cycle.
Well Medicine people they amaze me.. they are yes.. VERY into natural remidies.. they are healers.. they are herbalists, they are the ones.. just like pagans really? *way back, the "true" pagans* they were herbalists, they knew of natural remedies to help heal another person.. Native medicine people make well.. "medicine" alot of the time you drink it or apply it.. they believe bear grease helps protect you, helps iwht pains.. helps with aches.. that kinda thing.. umm but the medicines they make, the ones i know of.. like seen being made, is mostly out of cedar and what not, and alot of the time its drank inside the lodge, and it helps cleanse your system.. in a natural manner. with out chemicals and stuff..


Well, Mysticism to me.. is like Meditation looking within.. and YOU might benifit because you see god within yourself right? because.. youlove him he loves you.. all of that right? and meditation can benifit you with stress, helping you feel that "love" from god.. more strongly each day, some say its a way to connect with "god" easier.. umm, you will find sometimes god can give you messages through meditation..
For my self? i see mysticism.. as like Psychic things, Meditation, Healing, Mediumship, all things from god, he has given people... to help others.. *thats what i do anyway.. some people. dont and thats "wrong".. u know using it to hurt others* but working with energy, benifits me daily, because i am affected by things around me and half the time it hasnt eben by choice.. its like going into a mall sometimes you might feel liek you are having an OVERLOAD.. and you can feel stressed out, you can have all types of emotions when you go through a crowded place and not know why.. or where they come from.... But how it benifits me.. is in meditation i can create a barrior.. with other people so.. im not as affected by them as i always was.. and it helps me be able to walk through a mall with out feeling sick. Learning to work with your energy can benifit your health too, once you learn to feel the energy and see it.. or.. whatever.. you can feel blocks that might be created .. like sometimes when you are feeling depressed there is a block around your head, like in your aura.. im not gonna go into chakras.. to explain it.. but.. sometimes when you dont feel you h ave enough strength, and are running on empty is because there is a "problem" around your stomach.. umm, its all connected to the cahkras to understand that part, but... say in your body, you once you learn to work with energy, the blocks.. or whatever you feel example, umm say a cancerious thing.. you can sometimes prevent things liek that by clearing "blocks"
yes... anyway LOL those can be benifits.. Health really.. personal space.. kinda deal
oh I do not expect you to change anything about your religion i dont expect anyone to.. hell i wouldnt for someone, its just the idea.. to ADD to.. a religion or b elief. if it makes sense to you...
Well to be honest.. "god" to me.. isnt well "he" isnt able to be described, REALLY.. other than love, or.. the earth.. the sky.. *another native belief.. mother earth, father sky*.. but.. he is in everything.. he is everything he is all.. we are part of him, he is part of us.. thats how i see him.. is no matter who or what you are.. or where you are.. he is with you some how.. and.. i thinkw e just all call him different names.. and i say him.. cause its easier than saying "him/her" "it" lol
HMM how did i come to know him? by trying to committ suicide.. it made me realise what life is.. or what it can be.. how great it can be.. and that when shit happens.. it happens.. but.. we always got the big guy to lean on.. for support.. and nothing is ever too bad.. kinda deal.. So how i relate to him is a friend, a "soulmate".. umm Yes

Thank you LadyLD for explaining some of what you believe. Even though I have very strong opinions about some of it from my belief point of view I will refrain from expounding on it. *

I will say that I am very glad you didn't die when you tried to kill yourself. All life is precious and we are on this earth for a purpose. I wish for you that you see your purpose fulfilled and that you are happy in your life.

Also don't ever stop learning and growing. I believe God calls us to him and all we have to do is be still a moment and we can hear him drawing us close to Him. Your right He is love and He loves you very much. *

u see....i think that there is a higher power, but i do not think that it can be put to a name. i dont believe in 'god.' i wont say y because i will definitely affend some people. and i dunno whether to consider that spiritualist or atheist or wut...?

see but you believe in a higherpower.. i say god, and not in the christian sense of "GOD" lol, i just say god cause its easier, than saying universal being.. or.. "the creator"...

WOW. You guys are mega informed of your religions. I am not. Even thought I've been going to church since I was about 5ish? My parents put my brother and I onto a schoolbus bound for church every Sunday morning. I think it was their time to get rid of us. lol. I passed notes and talked to my friends and goofed off

I learned some stuff here and there, I'm not totally ignorant. But have not really had such an interest to explore and dig deep into it. You know?

But I do believe in a higher being. I have accepted Jesus as my savior because I believe "someone" created us out of love. I'm studying to be a nurse and don't really know how you could learn about the human body and all of it's complexities without believe someone very special created us.

But I don't go to church. I would rather sleep in on a Sunday morning and snuggle with my boyfriend, dog and cat, or go for a hike and enjoy the world around me. I like to sit in the park and just look at how beautiful the world is. Someone incredible made all of this for us to enjoy! Did you ever just stop and look at how wonderful and intricate it is? Pick up a leaf and study it's complexities? Pick up a beetle and study it's tiny little face and beautifully shiny hard wings and the soft microscopically thin ones buried beneath? How incredible it all is!

My religion is just believing someone special created everything for a purpose and a reason. And I live that by trying to do what I think is right. Helping others, being nice, loving my family, taking care of my pets, enjoying life, etc.

I don't enjoy people who want to push beliefs onto someone else and tell them what's right or wrong. Because in reality, I don't think any of us really know, unless you can talk to the creator yourself. That's why I kinda just do my own thing. Whether it's right or wrong to any observers. It's worked for me so far.

Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster. No offence but..doesn't this statement strike anyone else as a little fanatical? Especially in the light of recent events (9/11), when people who probably very likely used these exact same words to describe their love for their faith, acted out in a way that they thought their belief justified? Those people had the same strong convictions, the same level of fanaticism demonstrated in this quotation. The idea of religion being taken this far is scary to me, and im wondering if anybody else noticed this?
