Considering that since the discovery of oral stimulation men and women have been practicing this without adornments, and, that very few people have piercings, my guess is that if guys liked it better then more girls would be pierced.

Well actually it depends. I enjoy the regular bare tongue a lot, but I have had a girl I dated who used a vibrating tongue barbel on me and it was amazingly good. I figured that was just for girls, but it worked quite well on me. So it depends on the guy really.
