My wife is taking some medication that seems to interfere with her ability to climax. It seems she gets to the edge and just cant drop off.
I thought perhaps a vibrator might help. The question is, which one. We have kids so it'd have to be ULTRA-quiet. She's also very straight-laced. So it'd have to be something that didn't look, ah too . . . something and of course it would need to do the job.
She misses that special feeling and I'd like to help :-)

Well you can't have a super quiet one and have the job done right in my opinion. Get one that takes C batteries, I have found those work better. As to the noise she can alway stick a pillow on top of herself to muffle the sound. I actually like that if I am playing by myself because it feels like someone is on top of me.
Or make sure the kids are really asleep or get rid of them for the night or at least an hour.
Well, you could always check out sex store on this site...that got some great stuff. Also, you could go to any sex store and ask the clerk what they would recommend. Also, a lot of tiems before you buy it like that, they take it out of the box to make sure that it works properly and this way you can see if it's quite enough for you or not. Just check out these places and you gotta find something.
i would suggest a slim plastic one.
i have one but it's not really quiet. quite loud. (although rarely do i ever turn the thing on, but that's another story. lol).
the waterproof one i got from the toy store here is rubber and it is fairly quiet but it's not slim (or plastic) like the other one so I have difficulty with it since i'm not all that used to sex.
but since you're married and i would assume she's used to sex by now, i would suggest the one i got...which is this one:
