This article is not up to the usual standards and there are better descriptions of menstrual protection in the threads. The part about "wipes" is in error. Soaps are alkaline (basic) and not acidic. A pH of seven is neutral and less than seven acidic. Soap, with the active ingredient of lye, has a pH above seven and is basic.

The editorial has been cleaned up and corrected... please let us know if you see any other problems with it!

On that note... the piece is intended to be a general editorial giving a basic idea of all the products that are out there... not an all inclusive encyclopedia section... though we are considering building that section for the encyclopedia in the not too distant future!
