Introductions Sub Forum or Thread

Is there any way to create an "Intro" or "New Members" thread or sub forum in which people can get the "Hi my name is so and so I'm new to the board and can't wait to ask questions and participate" out of their systems. I only ask since I know there is a stickie pertaining to such threads but nobody seems to understand them.

More to the point, Ducy, most new people to the site fail to look around, first, before posting. Even if the Moderators did create such a dedicated place, past behavior being the best predictor of future behavior, new members to our community do not typically look around and familiarize themselves with what is available or how things operate before enthusiastically jumping in and posting.

Case and point:
Hi, My name is..... I'm new... is right there in plain sight in the Posting Guidelines section.
--BEGIN HERE--w/a Partial... and its parent INDEX OF SEXINFO101 BOARD TOPICS are also in plain view at the top of the main screen, yet judging from new posters' comments, few people ever see these helpful sections.

I've been asked a few times why I don't make my opening monologue a Sticky post instead of posting it in response to several new threads every day. The reason, the o/p most likely will never read the information unless it is placed there for them to see as a response to their question.
