number of stickies in "new to sex" forum

is it just me or is the amount of stickies there absolutely ridiculous, is anyone willing to go and try to consolidate all of them?

Why would they be consolidated? There are quite a few very common and important questions among those new to sex, and those cover many of those in a format that's easy to see without having to load 50 pages at once and take a guess at what phrase to search for.

They are consolidated on the boards already- in the new to sex section.

At my count there are 27 Sticky Posts in this Forum.

Eighteen are the foundation for helpful informative insightful, as well as how-to articles that are listed in the Index.

I have done my best to consolidate and categorize these and the other articles that appear at the top of the other forums. Perhaps the reason there are a large number of Sticky Posts in this particular forum is because of the number of questions and concerns people have regarding the topic.

Since reorganizing the Index several months ago, I've noticed that it is being used considerably more than it was originally.

Judging from the number of views each sticky has, each one has helped quite a number of people.

Weasel, what do you mean by consolidating the Sticky Posts?

The Index does this globally.

If your idea is to reduce the number of Sticky Posts overall by bundling several into one large document, then I believe the effort would be self defeating. Why?

Each article that Brandye, EEK, and, I write is self contained. More and more people nowadays have very short attention spans and do not like to read long manuscripts let alone books and newspapers. If information is not encapsulated into an answer "25 words or less", or less than a TV news segment of 60 seconds, they lose patience tune out and do not absorb the information.

By reducing the number of Sticky Posts in all forums to a few large documents consisting of many chapters would in my experience keep many people from finding the answer(s) they seek. This is why I believe the Index has proven to be very beneficial. The number of views each Sticky has has increased tremendously since the Index was created. One reason is because the Sticky Posts have been categorized. The lack of patience and attention span keeps many from finding answers by searching the top of each forum directly.
