This site could be so much better.

Why doesn't this site have stricter moderation.. It's crying out for it. Like I mentioned in a previous post I'm convinced that there are people out there that have genuine issues that they want help with, and they come here take one look at some of the posts and then move on.

Even if you just deleted some of the obviously worthless posts it would improve the tone of this site tremendously.

I have to agree. There is such a ridiculous amount of active threads and many are covering the same topics over and over. How many anal and oral sex threads do you need?

What are your suggestions or recommendations, Sarah? I'm guessing that the mods would like some input.

Like I mentioned in a previous post I'm convinced that there are people out there that have genuine issues that they want help with, and they come here take one look at some of the posts and then move on.

Perhaps, tho we will never really know. That said, there are plenty of new posts and members of the community each week to keep me busy, and I would guess the rest of us regular responders, also. I tend to believe that if a person really wants or needs answers s/he will ask regardless.

Even if you just deleted some of the obviously worthless posts it would improve the tone of this site tremendously.

I do not know what the owners' policy is on posting be it really legit or frivolous duplicates. I really think the guys have their work cut out for them just getting rid of the SPAM.

As I see it, the problem with new members is with their haste to post! They are in such a hurry, seem to have a limited attention span, and even shorter patience, because many do not read the top three forums that discuss how to properly use the facility.

How do you suggest the Board be managed so that we can get newbes to go thru "drivers training" before being permitted to post?

I am criticized for the length of my replies and articles, yet when you consider that we often get only one shot at the o/p I found it better to give both the answer as well as background. Other people are also concerned and reading the thread who might well benefit. I frequently ask the o/p for clarification or more information and rarely get it. This is another reason for long winded replies full of information.

I suggested to the mods that they add a "Q&A" link on the blue nav bar as yet a third way to access the Index. How do we get people to read the Index, let alone any of the articles it contains? Nowadays young people rarely read books and if information lasts longer than a TV news segment, it becomes "information overload".

It would be great if I didn't feel the need to tell new posters to read the FAQs, PGs, and Index. Until they take more interest in learning how to use the facility that they hope will answer their concerns, I'm afraid nothing will change. I am as frustrated as you are, although, for these reasons more so than the "me too" posts.

Guess I'll go take my frustrations out on one of the cars and wash it....

P.S. The site has always had a policy of self policing. If a "me too" post or a frivolous one was asked when many others are right there in front of them, how would a new member of the community think of the venu having just had their post(s) deleted by a mod? As crass as it may be, I believe the best approach is still to reply with an admonition to look around, read the Index, or do a site search using one of the two search engines. That information is surely short and succinct enough for people to take in and act upon.

> frisky_fox: i just think a little more organisation is needed, maybe an internal site search bar

My point, exactly. There are two {2) search engines accessable via a link on the blue Nav bar! Maybe the bar should be red instead of blue. You know like the bar is like right there in plain sight, know what I'm sayin' and it is either like overlooked or ignored in the haste to get to the "Post Reply" or "New Thread" button see what I'm sayin'--whatever.

Look I enjoy talking about sex, and I think the anonymous nature of the internet allows people to do it uninhibited.. but I think the atmosphere that's been created on this site by the same constant inane sleazy posting isn't really condusive to honest expression...

Anywho that's just my opinion.. maybe I'm wrong and there's some hidden value to the penis size thread..

Sarah,

You have been around long enough to identify what is worthwhile and what is not from the subject lines. The mods have enough problem with spammers and other crap to keep them busy. Every 13 yo boy in the world wonders about his equipment, just as you and I stood in profile to the mirror willing them to grow. If there is one in ten worth reading, we can tolerate that. For eight (?) years I have scanned "recent posts" and ignored most of them.

I do read yours!
