Dancing Doc, your replies and helpful attitude towards even the newbiest newbies stand as an example to us all. Your solution of combining a kindly worded reply with a reference to a more expansive post is probably one of the best ways to deal with the onslaught.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with some of the previous posters. There is such a thing as a stupid question, and unfortunatly you don't have to look very hard on this forum to find them.
The questions that really annoy me though, are the one couched in terms like "she wants to be the toilet" , It's glaringly obvious that there is no she, and that that all the poster wants is for us to provide wank material by discussing his horrid little fantasy. Instead of the guy having the balls to actually admit to having the fantasy he wants to portray himself as the hapless victim of a sick woman, and this forum is full of them, which is a pity.. Anytime someone posts a genuine question, it gets buried in a deluge of posts from guys with a ruler in one hand and their cock in the other.

Well, I'm new here. Sometime people get burn out at times. You can't expect the same percentage to talk about sex 24/7. It's only a limit to discuss it. A lot of people get on here for certain advice and they leave. Just like me, I love sex, but I refuse to discuss it everyday. You have to be in the mood at the right time. But, you all have brought up some valid points. I feel as if I have learned some things about you guys!
. I hope the site didn't go down-hill since I've join. |

Welcome to the SI101 Board and its Forums, m_r. I hope you enjoy participating. Please begin by familiarizing yourself with the FAQs, the Posting Guidelines section, and especially the Index, all found at the top of the main screen. The Index contains links to helpful informative insightful as well as how-to information covering the questions and concerns most often asked or wondered about. {This is the mantra I mentioned.)
The site has been here for years and is very stable. Of course like any service it does have ebbs and flows driven by the people and the questions they ask. Hopefully you will find those of us who reply regularly to be considerate and concerned about others. It has been said that there are no dumb questions except those not asked. I'm not sure I understand the logic; however, what irritates a lot of us are the idiotic posts. Hopefully, these threads are the only ones responders lose their cool over and not with honest concerns that may be obvious to them yet not to the o/p. It's times like these that we have to step back and consider where these questions are coming from. Presently, what irritates some of us is not so much the content of the post, it is with poor grammar and typing errors. One would think that by the time a person got to the 11th grade and into college that sentences would not run on, paragraphs would be incorporated, and each sentence would be capitalized and properly punctuated. "Me and her", "there" for their, "your" for you're (you are) are common examples that tend to give many of us that same feeling as running your finger nails down a chalk board! On those occasions when a poster has been called on one or more of these issues their response has been "so what" and "who cares". "Wat r are yung peeple being tought in skul nowdays--or words to that 'affect'." Speaking of school, what bothers me the most is a lack of attention span. Encapsulated television news reports in rapid succession, along with the fact that many people no longer read newspapers and books, has led to what I see as an intolerance for lengthy albeit complete answers. I would think that if a person is concerned enough to ask a question or request help, s/he would stick around for and be interested in a comprehensive response that is longer than the proverbial 25 words or less. This is my soapbox. |

well I didn't really intend the blog as masturbatory material, mainly just as an outlet for my thoughts on sex, which I've since given up on... was your criticism directed at my using the link as a signature? Anywho all I was trying to say is that there are people out there that want to have an honest exchange of opinions, and I think that when they come to this forum a lot read some of the frankly retarded posts... and then decide to keep on moving. If a slightly more aggressive attitude is taken to moderation I think you'll see more genuine posters arrrive.

Trust me, DancingDoc, I probably understand your feeling about the grammatical foibles of some posters better than most.
I believe, however, that my command of the English language is very much a direct result of my upbringing in education. It follows that those who had different upbringings and educations might not type as neatly and spell as well as I do, or may not be native English speakers, and I'm not inclined to get annoyed with them and respond brusquely to their questions because they may not have had the advantages that I have had. I regard providing information to people who need it as being of tantamount importance, and my personal reactions to the people themselves as secondary. |
