Requests for Thread Removals

Dear Members and Visitors,

Over the last few days, we have received quite a few private and public requests from some senior members to remove several threads relating to circumcision. We have not removed these threads, nor do we have any plans to.

Circumcision is a topic that is very sensitive for a lot of people, consequently, it tends to draw a lot of passion. Unfortunately, runaway passion does not always promote the best discussion, so if anyone feels a particular post, or part of one, crosses a line, please report it and one of the moderators will review it.

If you feel that a thread is being "hijacked", please report the post rather then replying to it; if we agree, the post can be moved/removed before it snowballs.

If you dislike passionate debates about touchy subjects such as this, please avoid the threads. If you don't read them, it is really similar to them not being there!

I think this is a wise decision, this board is meant for people to speak their opinions and give/receive advice (right or wrong). There is no post on this site claiming that everything is 100% accurate and people should follow it. Like nearly everything in life, things posted should be taken with a grain of salt, and just because people post their opinions is not a reason to delete their post.

i agree completly with curious woman, I can see how people may get upset by some people's oppinions, but none should ever be excluded.

Actually I agree now with keeping it. I think it went to a bad place and stopped posting on those threads around page three. But it should not necessarily be removed. I think it would be helpful if people argued properly. People should learn to use premise conclusion form and stop using personal attacks and other informal falsies, especially on topics so emotional and passionate.
