Limited Posts of New Members.

A different fourm im active on, restricts people who are "Newbies"(that boards first rank) to posting only once every three minutes. But, once you reach the next position in rank, that restriciton is lifted.

I feel we need something like that, due to people posting many times the same exact thing. The other fourm deals with electronics and computers and etc, and i realize this is a sexinfo site, and adding the restriction filter is probably very difficult.

Every now and then we have a rash of newbies doing mutliple posts. It has not been a major problem. The greater problem is those who storm in and post questions without looking around.

Your suggestion is a good one, and, we have a built-in sixty second limit, already. I do not believe your idea will work because those people who post the same question on multiple forums of the board will probably do so anyway, believing incorrectly that the more times they post the more apt people will run across a copy of their questions. What they fail to understand is that most of us do a NEW POST search whenever we log on the the board. Doing this brings up all new messages since last on.

What irritates most of us long time contributors is the fact that people ask questions that have just been asked often many many times over and as receintly as that day! As exasperating are those questions are for which the person could get nearly instantaneous information instead of posting and waiting sometimes hours for one of us to reply yet again, spending (additional) amounts of our time, s/he could often get answers quickly by just doing a simple or advanced search of this board, and/or the internet.

Yah especially Penis size posts.... since there are 3 Penis Size 101 stickies in 3 different forums I believe.
I wish I had a nickel for every penis size post I read.

I don’t agree with giving limitations. But it is getting annoying reading the same question several times when the information is so easy to get. What is the matter with the youth of today? No one reads. Maybe there should be clear definite guidelines sent in the welcome e-mail that is automatically sent on joining up. I realise I have not been a member as long as the rest of you so I can't say how many have been over time but in the time I have been here I have notice that a load of similar questions are being asked at once then a couple of weeks later it is a different question that every one is asking. Maybe they do this on purpose just to wind us up

It's called "instant gratification" and "entitlement."

That's why you read people wanting pills to increase their sex drive or make their penis harder.

I wouldn't say it's limited to youth... although youth is relative. LOL It does seem like there's some "you're supposed to answer my question right now!" attitude, along with "I shouldn't have to look it up, just tell me."

On a more actively moderated board, a moderator would probably remove multiple posts... we're sorta "self-moderated" here and it does seem to work. I've been on other boards where incompetent moderation means the board is about the moderators. I think one reason I stick it out here (golly has it been THAT long? lol) is that things tend to level out eventually... somebody comes on and dominates for a while... or uses the board for their personal crusade... or posts in shorthand language/street language that's barely intelligible... or only wants to talk about threesomes... or won't listen... or gets personal and argumentative...

But they always go away.
