Thank you ?wiseman? and others who are being supportive of restoring rationale & reason to a couple of the topics currently under debate. Any sincere apology is gratefully accepted without reservation.

It is a very thin line between exercising our right to free speech, while allowing others their right not to feel intimidated to exercise theirs! That line is not always an obvious one, but it is all of our individual responsibilities to attempt to observe it.

This Board might be accused of being too conservative by those who are used to the "free-for-all slugfests" allowed *by some other Boards. If that is true, I make no apology. This Board is intended for the enjoyment and enlightenment of everyone, be they conservative or extremist - we can all learn from each other, if we open our minds!

While healthy debate and feedback is welcome and encouraged, this Board is not an excuse for us to exercise our fantasy of being a psychiatrist or marriage counsellor - we don't truly know what someone else is dealing with, or whether we have all the facts (VERY unlikely), and no-one should feel like they have to defend themselves here.

If this type of tolerant philosopy doesn't work for anyone and they don't like that approach - well, why are they even here? ... the other Boards await them ... enjoy! Or maybe they don't really enjoy them so much, and that is why they are here??

Just because this is an anonymous venue does not automatically remove all personal sensitivity to snide, rude or derogatory comments. When anyone feels like making that type of post, they should consider how they would feel to be on the receiving end of it!

Most members are here to publicly share their experiences and knowledge (on a normally very private subject) with others of an equally open and non-judgemental mind. We don't have to agree with anyone, just respect their right to be different! But if anyone is so fixed in their opinions that they cannot be swayed on anything, ever, then again - why are they here?

There is a difference between a lively debate of differing perspectives and an all-out brawl. Please let us learn from this and move on ... thank you all!

(p.s. Please feel free to post your feelings on this subject here - whether you agree or not! Let's keep it objective and non-personal please.)

If I have ever offended anyone in any of my posts I appologize. That was not my intention. When I get to reading something that is of interest or something that I would like to either discuss or argue with, I admit that sometimes I get carried away. And with this being the internet as well, sometimes it goes out making it seem like one thing and sometimes taken in another. Again I appologize.

?wiseman? is on a distinguished road

This smiley activates a little known system control feature on all windows and macintosh operating systems. It is designed to sense an increase in blood pressure and anger through the pressure applied to the keys as one types. However, it can decern between these emotions and those of intelligent, healthy debate. Beware.
