ever tried: the yoni-egg?

I am the proud owner of a yoni-egg (sometimes called: tantra-egg) myself and it really is the best-buy ever! So I'd like to share this info with all you ladies. Any questions, I'd be happy to answer :) And perhaps there are ladies who use one too and would like to share their experiences?
What is it? Well, it's a little smooth egg-shaped crystal which you insert in your vagina (yoni). The egg is pierced, so that you could put a small thread through it. This is recommended so that you can pull it out after use, until you're able to push it out yourself.

What is it made of? It's made of germstone. There are different sorts of gemstones and each has different qualities, some believe even healing. You don't have to believe in healing to use a yoni-egg though!

Why use it? Once you put this little egg in place, the muscles inside your vagina will immediately hold it in place. It also strengthens your pelvic floor muscles. It's also about control by doing little exercises. Try pushing it out a bit and then bringing it back in (no hands ;)). This is quite a challenge!

This strength and control could improve the sensation of having intercourse for both you and your man. And even intensify your orgasms. On a more medical aspect: it could help women with continence-problems due to poor pelvic-muscle-control.

Because it's germstone, you could seek one with the special qualities you need. There's no way of keeping a crystal closer to you! Women who enjoy meditation with crystals could use it for this purpose as well.
personal experience

To share my personal experience: I have a RoseQuartz, which is a kind and gentle germstone representing love. I bought it a half a year ago. Reason why I was intrigued by this was:
- because I am very interested in germstones and energy flowing through your body. Though I can't explain it scientifically (very frustrating) having them on necklaces or meditating with them appears to have a calming effect on me. And yes: carrying one inside does feel very soothing; not only while meditating, but immediately after I put it inside.
- because I felt like it would contribute to me being 'in touch' with my body. I had been on a road of discovering my body for about 2 years by then. And yes: it does feel very much in touch with my femininity in a way.
- because I have very strong pelvic floor muscles that even get in my way at times, so I liked the idea of practicing control. And yes: you sure can! Nice for me was that I was able to push it out by myself the first time. It is strengthening my feeling of being in touch and having control over my own body.
-sexually, I had little to complain about. As I could already easily orgasm for several times by different sorts of stimulation and totally squeezed my bf like crazy :o Perhaps it's a bit more controllable now... and perhaps using the egg is like a sort of 'maintenance' to keep it all tight ;) but I really don't feel that way about it... So I guess the yoni-egg really is more like a little gift to myself.
Ummm is it possible for the yoni egg to get stuck up there???
Meaning couldn't the egg shift it's position inside which could get it stuck??
No worries! It's not going to get stuck. In the beginning, you may have to learn how to push it out. We're usually not 'trained' to control these muscles consciously. That's why you have a string attached to it. So that you can pull it out. Same way as you'd do using a tampon.

In case other's might be worrying: It's not going to get lost either, as it could never pass the cervix. And it is not going to bounce around. You could feel that the egg slightly moves position. (like I noticed while I was running down the stairs and started giggling because of it :)) You could experiment 'shifting' it up and down and/or 'tilting' the egg inside you by a combination of relaxing and flexing specific muscles. That's a great feeling. It has very minimum space to move, though, cause your vagina will automatically hold on to it.

FYI: the size is about 45 by 35 mm. And it's not the goal to use one as large as possible. In fact: the smaller ones will require your muscles to grab on to it tighter.
I used to wad up toilet paper into a hard ball and place it in my vagina, just like the yoni egg
I'd worry about pieces of toilet paper remaining in there after removing the ball... and (like Rex says) absorbing all vaginal fluids. Using the yoni-egg could even stimulate vaginal walls to lubricate :)
Something tells me, I'd be very hesitant to try out the yoni egg, at the same time, I have a feeling that this would be an ideal way to strengthen the pelvic floor. Before I became comfortable with touching myself via masturbation, I had an odd way of approaching it. I used to wad up toilet paper into a hard ball and place it in my vagina, just like the yoni egg.

I think what terrifies me about the yoni egg is...well how hard it is.

I've been getting used to FINALLY putting the vibe inside myself now.

So....umm, is the yoni egg safe to use?
Doesn't the Toilet Paper make you dry? the eg sounds a better idea to me and I'm a man.

safety
is the yoni egg safe to use?
Well, I'm not a doctor, but: yes, it is safe to use :) There are a few things you should be cautious about:
- while menstruating (blocking natural flow is not a good plan, so better not use it)
- while using an IUD, please verify with your doctor
- whenever you are experiencing pain while having intercourse or while wearing the yoni-egg, please verify with your doctor. (Using the egg is not going to cause pain, any underlying medical issue could.)
- it is not advised to fall asleep with it, though you are allowed to hold it in for a day.
- Get the egg cleansed every time! Rinse it. Put the egg into an empty mug. Let recently boiled water run over the egg slowly, slowly filling the cup (do it to fast and temperature-differences could cause damage). Allow it in the mug for a while and then rinse it off again and pad it dry. If you use a string; take it out of the egg and boil the string for a few minutes.

All this is presented in the brochure accompanied with the egg.

structure and usage
I think what terrifies me about the yoni egg is...well how hard it is.
Well, I can't tell you it's soft in nature ;) But to me it does feel 'nice' because of the rounded smooth surface. And I usually warm the egg in my hands or under warm water. Germstones absorb the heat quite well.

You'd probably have to get comfortable with the egg. You don't need to rush anything. You could lie down and place it in between your labia and keep it there for a while until your comfortable with it. When you're wet enough (or use a little lube) you put a little pressure to it and it will slide in when you're ready for it. You just need to relax en enjoy. (Masturbating is certainly allowed! ;))

There are a variety of things we can insert and enjoy whilst living our normal lives. This egg is one of them. It will not do harm and it cannot get lost. Enjoy.

Hygiene is, of course, a concern. For anything we regularly carry around in our vaginas (diaphragm, menstrual cup, toys), a regular vinegar soak is required. Mix one part white vinegar with two parts warm water and allow it to soak for twenty minutes or more. This is also the douche I recommend for those rare occasions when a douche is indicated, such as too many dates in one afternoon.

Rexy, I was 12 when I experimented first with masturbation, I had a very weird preference...and it's not like I wadded it up there. Not going into specifics.

There are also these balls called Ben Wa balls, that do the same thing, I believe.

You were older than me then, I would try all sorts of things while masturbating, I remember the Ben Wa Balls didn't they go Clickity Clack when you walked.

I didn't actually tried them, but did do some searching and asked for advice before I made my choice for the yoni-egg. Ben Wa balls are in fact a bit of the same thing. Accept that they're usually not made out of germstone. And yes, they could make (little) sounds :)

that sounds like it could cause some awkward and or funny situations
john :"hey beth, whats that clicking? you aren't wearing heals."
beth: "uhhhh.... maybe its the coffee machine?"

Update: I own Ben Wa balls too. I've had no problems with clicking at all.

Mine are pretty glass ones decorated with glass flowers inside :) The sensation is different, since it's two of them and they're quite small. I consider it a welcome variation :) Just like yoni-eggs, the smaller the Ben-Wa-balls are, the stronger a woman needs her vaginal muscles to be. Also; you need to be in control of your muscles, so that you can push them out. If you're not experienced; better buy those with a thread attached.

PS: I wish my edit-buttons were still active in my old posts; I see so many misspellings, it makes me blush a bit :o My apologies.

darn... i was having a laugh with the idea of clicking
so many fun situations lol
