I think this thread could be part of both male and female health and the pleasing him and her forum, perhaps even the toys-section. I had to pick one...
I've bought myself a scalp massage brush few weeks ago. Which is a rather simple spider-like object made from wires with beads at the tips and a wooden handle in the middle. You place it on top of your head and slowly move up and down, while the wires drape over your scalp and as a result the beads gently massage it. Supposedly it's inspired on an aboriginal tool that was used for healing.
I've always liked to have my head petted and hair stroked ever since I was a child, so I bought it just because it seemed like a pleasurable feeling. But it's amazing how beneficial it is to me :) The moment I put it to my scalp it sends tingles through me all the way to my toes. It's both a refreshing and relaxing feeling. My head noticeably relaxes. It's as if my brains have gotten more room inside my skull (sorry, it's the best way to describe it). Even more amazing; I've been having quite a lot of difficulties with pain for some time now and this seems to work better than pain-killers. And instead of nasty side-effects, it has the good side-effect of my hair becoming more strong and healthy. Which is very welcome, since after being ill for so long, my hair had grown fragile and less voluminous.
I feel like writing the text for one of those ridiculous commercials now, but in this case; it's just that it really works for me :) So I've been doing a bit of reading and it seems like the benefits I experience are experienced by more people, as described here for example: [url=http://health.howstuffworks.com/skin-care/scalp-care/tips/scalp-massage2... Health "Scalp Massage Brushes" I have no idea how reliable the claims are about serotonin and dopamine-levels rising and the heat-scans of your head that shows blood rushing towards your brains. I don't own a bio-lab to run tests with myself as guinea-pig (if I did, I'd probably would). But I can at least say it sure feels fantastic :)
I think this could be highly beneficial for anyone suffering from stress, physical discomfort and/or pain. And highly pleasurable for anyone else :) Which is why I'm sharing this with you all. And perhaps; you too would like to share? I'm curious to hear how others experience this.
Btw: they also sell a body massage brush and a penis massage brush of the same brand. I don't have experience with those, but it sounds like a lot of fun to integrate into love-play.

I have a lot of issues with chronic pain and headaches from a series of bad injuries and, sadly, a recent development of autoimmune problems compounding them and a nice massage always helps, especially a head massage.
My favorite is a Wahl massager with its scalp attachment(the one with all the pointy nubs)

They're only $15 in the US at stores like Target or Wal-Mart and work quite well.
If a partner is stressed I'll usually give them a head and face massage and during foreplay caresses on the face and fingers running through the hair have never garnered complaints.
Good to hear about your experiences with scalp-massages. I do hope things will get better for you, Fun.
Come to think of it; the only way I've ever managed to calm my stressed out ex-lover is by massaging his face and head (when he let me, off course ;)) And it's something you could practically do anywhere anytime, which makes it very convenient.
Btw, the massager I own looks like these: [url=http://www.kikkerland.com/products/head-massager/]Kikkerland Design- Head Massager Apparently it's also know as an 'Orgasmatron'. O my! :)
Off topic: kikkerland means "frog('s) land" in Dutch and we use it as a nickname for our country. I'm not sure how that relates to Kikkerland Design, since I don't know the company; just googled a picture. Funny small world:rolleyes:
