We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the Netherlands. But there's something I'm very thankful for:

The first Dutch human milkbank was officially opened on 11-24-2011!!!!

Human milkbanks had disappeared from Dutch soil for nearly 40 years, but finally this important initiative has returned and I hope many more will rise. This one will provide premature infants with the best nutrition possible, when their own mom is unable to provide breastmilk. Formula is inferior to breastmilk in so many ways and poses so many risks, particularly for these very vulnerable babies. Breastmilk will give them their best chance of survival and good health they can get. I'm over-joyed! And I am thankful for everyone who's made this possible. Especially the mothers who donate their milk. Thank you for giving.
