I have a theory on how smurfs reproduce.

I think that when smurfs mate they become the opposite gender which, in my mind, explains why there is only one female to dozens of males.

I cant bring my self to watch the cartoons, much less the movie, so tell me how it goes!

a baby smurf comes once in a blue moon. It's sad that i remember that from the cartoon...

Now that you say so, HD, I particularly remember babysmurf being flown in by a stork in the moonlight But that made sense to me; babysmurf was lost&found, just like the kids in the orphanage that get adopted. So when was Smurfette going to get pregnant and have her own baby? If it takes only one male to impregnate a herd of cattle, that shouldn't be too difficult...

haha nooo afraid no hermaphroditic smurfs. ha smurfette isn't a real smurf though, she was made by gargamel to bring the smurfs to him, so he could make them into gold. wow this is just getting sad...i remember a childhood tv show, but not what i ate for lunch last week...

But yeah... wasn't it something like Papa Smurf made her look so cute with a bit of magic, as Gargamel did a bit of a bad job on that?

Wow, refreshing the memory, it would make the procreation-issue even trickier... Ok, i'm getting weird ideas now about self-pollination. Or maybe smurfs have a queen. One fertile female and a few drone-smurfs, where babies keep on popping and are distributed among smurf-villages.

or perhaps like salmon, she just shoots out a ton of smurf-eggs, and the other smurfs fertilize all of them

hah yes. This would probably sell better then whatever this version's gonna be about. Though I doubt this would be a terribly child-friendly movie...
