Yes, addictive is an approriate term but you gotta have a little
"junk" sometimes. At least, that is what I tell myself. Makes all
that exercise worth it. Don't seem to covet the ice cream that
bad but it's good nonetheless. Have I ruined this thread? It seems
my posts are not very good.

Hey, I don't mind if you guys hi-jack this thread. Your banter is interesting...

I was going on 4 years old when the 80's officially ended so I can't really reminisce with you. The closest thing I can remember was watching the kids shows of the early 90's (Ninja Turtles mostly) and the technicolor-on-acid commercials. Nothing classic like "Where's the beef" or "It's time to make the donuts" but memorable nonetheless. Hot pink, neon green and words like "radical" and "tubular". And the cool thing to do was to shave words on the back of your head, wear all your clothes backwards and argue about whether Pepsi was better than Coke. I take it that was pretty close to 80's culture... Good times.

You guys should rent The Wedding Singer sometime if you haven't seen it already. It's the best movie about the 80's that I've ever seen, and I have great taste in movies... I think you would especially get a kick out of it, sera.

Yep, that song is about me alright. I can see why it reminds you of me - sounds awfully similar to that situation I was posting about back in the day... And where I am now with "no place else to go".

Oedi, you are on the right track. I was a high schooler during that
period. I am partial to the 80s and believe it was a pretty good
TIME. There was a bunch of bad hair running around back then.
I posted somewhere else that the 80s music was, in my mind, in
many ways a "revolt" against the dominant disco sound of the
70s. Some of Hollywood's best ever though: Sixteen Candles,
The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire---funny thing too MOSTLY
the same actors/actresses. See how cost effective things
can be if you simply recylce?? Think about it.
