SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- A woman in Santa Monica, California, is attempting to lose weight in a manner others may not be able to stomach -- an all-semen diet.
Starting December 1, a plump porn star named Kim Kelly hopes to lose between 10 and 20 pounds by spending 30 days on a diet consisting largely of semen -- or as she prefers, "man juice."

It may be hard for you to swallow but Kelly is shooting for at least six square meals a day -- with occasional pigouts.

So far, more than 800 men have offered to help Kelly with her diet and she's currently screening applicants thoroughly for STDs.

Although nutrition experts agree "man juice" is high in zinc and other nutrients, there's no officially recommended daily allowance.

Therefore, Kelly says she plans to drink plenty of banana smoothies in between her regular meals because, in her words, "I'm not going to kill myself for this."

Who knew? Centrefold models, the poster girls for male fantasies, are becoming less feminine - at least in the traditional sense. The ample bust, nipped-in waist and voluptuous hips of Playboy magazine's first centrefold, Marilyn Monroe, have given way to a more androgynous frame, a new research paper reveals.

Today's centrefolds have wider waists, slimmer hips and - yes, it's true - smaller breasts than their sisters who bravely bared all in the magazine's earlier days, says the study, to be published Saturday in the playful Christmas issue of the British Medical Journal.

"Basically what's happening now is there's more of a trend towards slimmer and more androgynous," says Maryanne Fisher, a PhD candidate at York University in Toronto and one of the paper's co-authors. "They're taller, and they just don't have the curves."

Fisher did the research with lead author Martin Voracek, a psychology researcher at the University of Vienna in Austria. Voracek and Fisher looked at the vital statistics of every centrefold model to grace Playboy's pages from the inaugural issue in December 1953 to December 2001. That's 577 consecutive centrefolds.

The magazine helpfully makes such details available online, making its Web site quite a research resource. "I was just looking at the numbers," Fisher said.

Speaking of figures, Fisher and Voracek looked at a lot of them to draw their conclusion. Waist to hip. Waist to bust. Bust to hip. They even used an "androgyny index" - a complex calculation multiplying one body measurement by another and dividing by a third. The evidence was clear: hourglass is out, long and lean is in.

Sara Marett, associate health editor of Flare magazine, isn't terribly surprised. "I guess you don't find many women these days going after that body type," Marett says, "because it is typically known as an old-fashioned body type. It's kind of the Marilyn Monroe look and isn't so sought-after any more. Maybe women are looking for a more healthier, muscular physique."

But the contents of Playboy aren't dictated by what women want. Are men just so keen to see naked flesh that they'll pony up for whatever sort of woman the editors can come up with, or is Playboy tapping into some sea change in the male sexual zeitgeist? Voracek and Fisher think it's the latter.

"That's the presumption of the paper, that men are actually voting," Fisher says. "When they buy that magazine, they're voting that that's what's attractive to them. So we're assuming that's what they find physically attractive in women."

If so, the trend could challenge some of the thinking around the evolution of the female form - that men are hard-wired to seek out mates whose wide hips and evident fat stores proclaim them as good bets in the game of producing progeny. Previous papers have argued the evolutionary imperative means that what men find attractive in a woman's form hasn't really changed over time.

"I guess what it's telling us is that what people find attractive, or what men find attractive in particular, is not consistent. It's not stable across time," Fisher says of these findings.

Or just maybe it's telling us that the female form is changing. The last century saw a major transformation in human health and longevity. Abundant food and advances in medicine resulted in astonishingly rapid - from an evolutionary point of view - increases in average heights, weights and lifespans. Maybe hourglass figures aren't sought for centrefolds because there are fewer of them around?

"It could be. It really could be," Fisher says. "The last 100 years are like a blip in terms of human evolution. So we have no idea where the species is going. It could be that women are changing and these magazines are reflecting that change."

HAHA guido...but i think it's kinda funny how people now are fatter, meaning more curves, and that's the opposite of the attractive look now, which is skinnier...less curves

A true-blue, federally funded study is paying women 20 to 40 up to $75 to watch porn flicks so researchers can determine "what types of audiovisual erotica women find sexually arousing."

A woman who takes part in the $147,000 study at Northwestern University would insert a tampon-sized probe into her vagina that monitors her getting turned on as she watches X-rated film clips. The research is funded by the National Institutes of Child Health and Human Development.

Northwestern psychology Professor Michael Bailey's research is intended to assess the "arousal of 180 lesbian, bisexual and heterosexual women as they watch erotic video clips of lesbian, gay or heterosexual interactions," the Washington Times yesterday quoted him as saying.

"We have some really great results on it and I think it's going to make a big splash," he said of the two-year study that began in September 2001.

Sexologist Joanne Marrow, a psychology professor at California State University at Sacramento - who is not part of Bailey's study - said its findings may help improve a woman's self-esteem and rev up communication with her sex partner.

NICHD spokesman Robert Bock said it's hoped the findings will help in the battle against sexually transmitted diseases.

"People are more likely to engage in risky sexual behavior when they are sexually aroused, so a better understanding of sexual arousal is important to developing more effective strategies," he said.

Male strippers run scared of all-girl rugby team

A group of male strippers are refusing to appear at a London all-girl rugby club's New Year party after previous shows got out of hand.

They complained of being grabbed, goosed and even rugby-tackled by women at Wood Green Wanderers.

The performers are provided by London entertainment agency Stage-struck.

A spokesman for the firm told The People: "The ladies go crazy after a few pints. There is no way men will perform for them again."

But club spokeswoman Liz Sharpe said: "Agencies are sending wimps. We'll just have a disco unless we can get some real men."

Re: Male Strippers

THE FOLLOWING IS TRUE - not a joke or story!

I knew a disc-jockey (DJ) who once told me he DJ'd a "hen-night" (stagette - whatever) in England and that the women tore the poor male strippers g-string off, dragged him off-stage and almost killed the poor sod!

The DJ was so scared, he went and locked himself in the washroom and wouldn't come out. He said he had never seen anything like it, the women were animals!

I have heard other stories like that, but this is the only 1st hand account I have heard. It is never like that when guys go to see strippers, they get excited but that's as far as it goes. What gives with the women? Would be interested in the ladies thoughts on this!
