I know, I know...
you've all written about this before but I couldn't find a question as specific as mine...
Basically, I had anal sex, he ejaculated inside me, but as soon as I realized what I had allowed him to do, I went to the washroom and cleaned up... how bad is that? I know all the responses have been "careful for pregnancy" but if I made sure the drainage went elsewhere than my vagina am I somwhat okay?

Ejaculation in the rectum

If the semen has not entered your vagina, you can't get pregnant. There's no way to be completely sure that some didn't cross over during the drainage. You should be using a condom during anal intercourse anyway.
You cannot get pregnant from anal with no vaginal penetration, but you can get STD's if you are not using a condom...
What were you thinking? Sex without condoms is totally irresponsible!
It isn't abou not getting pregnant - it is about not dying from STDs.
Never do that again!
There is no way that you can get pregnant from a man cuming in your ass. But not usings a condom is just plain stupid. The cum will just drain out of your ass, gravity and time will help it.
There is some really bad information in some of these responses. The vagina walls absorb about half the semen that is ejaculated there and the rest drains out. The rectum absorbs very little and the rest all drains out. There is a distance of less than an inch from the anus to the vaginal entrance and it is warm and damp and a great route across the perineum for migrating sperm.
I have diagnosed pregnancy in a virgin as a result of anal sex. There are some societies where anal sex is thought to be a way to avoid pregnancy. They still have unwanted pregnancies. Yes, there will be a reduced fertility rate in these societies but individual women still become pregnant.
she asked a question and im pretty sure she didnt want to have "your stupid" "what were you thinking" thrown at her?
i mean i understand you have to get the point across, but you dont have to be rude.
it was irresponsible yes, thats the mature way of saying, because im pretty sure you guys have done some stupid things in your sexual expierences, i dont know im not trying to start anything but im almost positive you can get your point accross without being an *******.
Perhaps the point to clarify here is for future readers; whenever there is a potential for semen to come in contact with the vaginal area (vaginally or through ejaculation outside of the vagina through whatever means you can imagine or attempt) there always is a risk of pregnancy. The little critters (sperm) can migrate up through the fluids and impregnate the egg. Sexual contact without condoms has serious consequences (beyond pregnancy) of STD's and HIV. Hence, if you are going to engage in sexually activity, eliminate all potential risks, and bear in mind no form of sex is truly 100% free of risk.
My wife and I have been having anal sex for 13 years without birth control... Perfect record so far. Anyway, anal sex has about a 5% failure rate, about the same as condoms. So, I guess if you're both disease free and monogamous, I say fill'er up!
Luv,
In two posts today you have given some very inaccurate information. I can find no figures on the pregnancy rate among those praticing anal sex. The data have evidently not been gathered. While putting it in the anus does reduce the rate of pregnancy it is probably about the same as practicing withdrawal. Any couple using either "method" is at definite risk for pregnancy. When dealing statistically, some win and some lose. You and your wife are among those who have won.
Condoms used alone, incidentally, have abotu double the pregnancy rate you report. With spermicide in the vagina, they are a little better than you say.
One final issue for you: Anal sex without a condom puts the man at risk for urethral and prostate infections. The most common bacteria found in urethritis is enterobacteria - the ones that belong in the intestinal tract - that have migrated somehow into the urethra. The male in anal sex if inviting these bacteria right into him.
It's amazing to me that someone could actually get pregnant from anal while other couples try intentionally for years to get pregnant without success. Not disputeing anyone just find it really ironic.
I guess it also depends on what position you are in.
If she is on her back, then the semen would just run down onto whatever you were lying on.
If you are doing it from behind or doggy... then yes the semen would drip from the rectum... directly down towards the vagina.

My information was obtained from a 1997 US Goverment study, I'll be happy to find the link. According to the latest study by the Kaiser Family Foundation, the failure rate for anal sex as birth control is 8%. Condoms "used perfectly" have a 4% failure rate. While the avarage condom failure rate is 12%. So, anal sex is actually a better form of birth control than a condom (on average). However, that being said, my wife and I were not relying on it as a form of birth control. If we got pregnant, that was alright with us.
I agree anal sex has the potential to expose one to infection. I have had a RTI (reproductive tract infection) at one time. That is why I have talked to a urologist and a proctologist regarding the practice of anal sex. I took a week worth of antibiotics and made a full recovery. According to the urologist, I was just as likely to have obtained the infection from oral sex. Is everyone going to stop having oral sex because of the likelyhood of infection?
Certainly, I would not recommend unprotected anal sex between two non-monogomous partners. Nor would I recommend anal sex that causes the recipient pain. Nor do I think anal sex should be an act of domination (well, unless that's the way the recipient wants it).
Considering the average person in the US has a nearly 3% chance of being in a serious automobile accident in a year, I'll take my chances.
[QUOTE=Sirene;165487]lol. They may have been together for ages & know that each other doesnt have STDs!!!

I agree. Depends on the relationship. Don't think you can make a blanket statement that anyone not useing condoms is an irresponsible idiot. I've seen that said here more than once. Maybe someone has stock in Trojan?;) Personally, I wouldn't care to be with someone that I couldn't trust not to bring something home. Course if you're into swinging ,sleeping around a lot or doing one night stands then by all means use them. Just call me old fashioned. BTW, my GF has her tubes tied and niether of us fool around on the side so I don't have any condoms in the house.

I always use condoms at first, but then I use them less & less as the relationship goes in deeper, getting to really know then & trust them not to cheat. Then i stop altogether.
