Well, ask her. Of all positions I have tried, doggy is my least favorite and I avoid it whenever I can. The size is not that significant because angles of how you approach can adjust for that.
I love doggy style, but noticed that a lot of other girls didn't in another women's sex forum, and that many may find it painful, especially if they are not very experienced and/or their partner is well-endowed.
