Me n my bf had sex when i was on my 4th day of my period. it was pretty much the end of my period, very little bleeding/cramps and no uneasy feeling, so we just decided to go for it at the spur of the moment. but we had to stop half way cuz it hurt me like hell! i've had sex maybe about ten times before, and they never hurt, like maybe a little bit the first time which you dont really care. but this time it hurt so bad i had to tell him to stop.
has this happened to anyone else? is it possible that the vagina becomes sore or tender after continual bleeding for a few days? (i do have pretty bad periods, heavy flow, cramps, the works)
also, soon after, i had a big gush of blood, which scared me at first but then i found thats normal. but is the pain normal too? and is it common? cuz i dont want to have to pull the plug on my bf if we do it again on my period.

does sex during periods hurt more?
I've never read any complaints like yours in the past. Sounds to me like something else is going on. As an example, was he (and/or you) going at it with more vigor and passion than at other times in which case all the bumping and grinding might make you sore?
A lot of women enjoy having intercourse during their periods; although, not necessarily on days of heavy flow.
What is likely going on is that you were underlubed. The menstrual fluids remaining were not your natural lube. During heavy flow, the menstrual juices lubricate adequately by their very volume. As that dwindles near the end of your period, the thinner consistency does not lubricate as well as your body's real lubrication and early in one's cycle, you tend to generate less vaginal fluid.
I find the few times I've masturbated on my period, sometimes doing it makes cramps worse...other times better....so maybe thats it? The lube thing makes sense as well, next time try some artificial lube to help.
