Maybe it gives him a better idea of how you perform oral sex on him visually? That's really about the only thing I can think of because maybe he would like to watch how you perform oral sex on him but can't because of various reasons so watching you perform oral on the dildo is sort of a next best option.

Not that I know of but you could always put some flavored lube on the dildo to make it taste better. I'd use water based lube though because oil based lubes may deteriorate certain kinds of dildos and silicone based lubes are not good for dildos made from silicone. You could always an assortment of flavored lube pillows. You can get these at various sex stores online.
