Awhile back, I was watching a show on teen sex, and one of the "experts" had suggested that while a person may not have had penis in vagina sex, they're not considered a virgin if they have had oral sex.
I'm confused on how this works.
Can someone explain?

It's a spin. If you look at what virginity means it goes beyond the obvious based on interpretation. Virgin is meant to symbolize purity, being untouched. This is the only interpretation I can figure from what the person intended to convey.
I think it was a US president that said. "I did not have sex with that woman"..so a BJ in the oval office is NOT sex!! giggles
Lol Kudos, Hard. :)
The French have the word "demivirge" which is not directly translatable. It means a woman who has done virtually everything except take a penis into her vagina. Useful word. You are demivirge.
It's a technicallity, really, which, IMHO, goes to show how dumb these things are. I mean, if a woman made everything with dildos for 10 years and never had a man, would she be a virgin? How pure is pure? Is purity only related to a vagina?!
My 2 cents: anyone who has had any type of oral sex, vaginal sex or anal sex, is not a virgin. Period. that's why they have "sex" next to it. Dildos matter btw.
It was much easier back then, when most of the time a virgin was someone who hasn't had any sexual experience. Now there are more exceptions from this rule than not, so we have more topics to dicuss :)
I guess it also depends on the culture and language. In my mother tongue, virgin translates to someone completely pure, not having done any "dirty" things, therefore you have oral sex and - wham! - not a virgin. But who could prove? Again, that is thing with women, hymen lets see if you've had vaginal sex or not, so it is possible to see. maybe that's where the saying "only intercourse will make you not virgin anymore" stems...
The technical science-y defination of sex requires rushing blood and then that blood going away. By that defination, a guy who gets aroused just thinking about someone is "having sex." So really, the whole thing about where verginity is lost or maintained is really up to your personal interpretation.

No, that's not engaging or "having sex" by mere thought...you are describing a state of sexual arousal. Unless you are putting some religious spin on it; the whole thought, word, and deed concept.

there are lots of different views on this subject on the above link.. i hope it works.
i agree with "literallyangrywithrage" on this one.

I believe the actual term used was "sexule" [sic] "contact...." At least that is how I heard what he said.
Leave it to a politician as it has been stated "absolute power leads to absolute corruption".
