different sperm

Usually when my boyfriend cums its in short spurts, ya know? But this last time it kind of pooled which he's never done before....is this normal?

I'm not sure what you mean by "pool"; however, in general, if a guy masturbates a lot during the day, the latter ones tend to be less strong and the semen can simply run out rather than spurt. If this is what went on that day then it is entirely normal. If something else is behind the "pooling", then you might have to ask him if this continues. Unless this begins to happen with some frequency, then I wouldn't say anything. Keep in mind that guys climax for a couple of other reasons besides making love, all of which are normal.

The male orgasm, which almost always results in ejaculation, consists of a series of great tensing and relaxing of mucles and the prostate gland. This pushes the semen out in pulses. If these pulses are strong and distinct, you see the spurts; if the tensing is less strong, it flows out. As men age, the power reduces and those who might squirt a couple feet eventually become dribblers.

As a teen, I almost always jacked my partner off during foreplay. This did a few things: it slowed him down so I could get more cuddling and foreplay; it made him last longer once I took him in; it reduced the power of that first squirt and with oral this made it easier to accept. The first ejaculation also contains the highest sperm count. Do not count on this for contraception but we need to keep ourselves as protected as possible.

As the evening (or afternoon or whatever) progressed the ejaculations became thinner and less powerful.

When I say it pooled, I mean instead of coming out in its normal small gushes, it like came out in one long stream. He's never done that before (to my knowledge) and it just kind of worried me.

There was no masturbation earlier on. If I remember it was first thing in the morning....which I've learned that if we do it like right when we get up, he doesn't or can't cum. I've always viewed this to be normal but is it really?

That happened a lot with my ex. Any first thing in the morning sex we had never resulted in him cumming. I'm not sure, but I think it was either because he still wasn't totally awake, or because he hadn't gone to the bathroom.
