So for the past few months I have been dealing with anxiety attacks, and just recently I have been diagnosed with depression. Nothing like manic depressant or anything, but just I have my ups and downs. So the doctor put me on lexapro. Ive been on it for almost two weeks now, and I have noticed my sex drive has increased drastically. Usually I masterbate about once a day, but lately i have been going 3 or 4 times. and when im with my girlfriend i am almost constantly hard.
Now according to the doc its had a side affect of lowering sexual appetite and even causing ed. but instead i am experienceing the opposite. is this normal? could it be that since i havent been having so many ups and downs and my stress is lower that my body is just naturally like this?

What is normal does not matter; what is happening to you is what matters. Lexapro, like msot anti-depressants has documented side effects of reduced libido, ejaculatory incompetence (men) and inorgasmia (women).
I have never encountered increased libido with any anti-depressants in patients. I guess you better enjoy! Tomorrow is tomorrow.
haha true true. it just kinda bugs me cuz I cant wear my jeans anymore...a little too snug to have to constantly hide stuff.
same I have never heard of it, very strange. Maybe thats really almost your "normal" libido and your increased quality of life has brought it back? Only guess I have, enjoy it.

Thats what i figure, and i never really have a problem with it, but masterbation has lost its enjoyment, and my girlfriend hasnt really been to interested in fooling around because some unknown reason, so im kinda at a lost to whatt to do. hopefully my girlfriend will return to her usual crazy self soon.
Usually SSRI antidepressants increase your lasting time. Doctors prescribe it as a premature ejaculation treatment. I was on it for awhile for that reason about 19 months ago. I found better ways to treat premature ejaculation, so I stopped taking it.
You will probably find that you can last longer now during intercourse since you have started taking them.
