i have been friends with this guy for a few years. I want to go with friends with benefits route, but well i don't know how he would feel about it or if he would be even interested. any advice on how to go about asking fwb? we had discussions about sex before..and he says he is good..and well i want to know LOL

You could:

a.) talk to him about going to the next level
b.) simply cozy up to him on the sofa and look into his eyes
c.) cozy up to him and cuddle and wait for a response.
+ if there is, go with the flow up to your present boundary
+ If there is not, yet no rejection, up the ante' and begin playing with the hair on the back of his head, stroke his shoulders, etc.
d.) kiss him!

Doc suggests a subtle approach. I would be more direct - either ask him directly or unbuckle his belt. Either way, you will arrive at a mutually accepted position.
