The only way to fix communication issues is to put your thoughts out there. If you two can't do this on your own, do it with a counselor, but it has to be done. Otherwise move on.

He does not communicate like you do because he isn't female. Men are not terrible verbal nor are they intuitive - they rarely "get it". This is why we are encouraging you to look at him objectively and rationally.

Tips to communicating with a man:

1. Say it ONCE.
2. Say it clearly - no innuendo, no nuances, be BLUNT.
3. Mean what you say and be willing to back it up.
4. Be honest. If you're angry, be angry and tell him WHY in words he can understand. No guessing games "you know what you did". None of that.
5. Never be silent. No silent treatments - ever.
6. Refuse to argue but do not back done and let it go. DISCUSS it but no laying blame or arguing about who's right yadda yadda yadda.
7. Do NOT use any foul or vulgar language and do not permit him to call you names.
8. If you want to know something ASK. "Why did you do ro not do whatever it was?" Expect an answer.
9. Never lie even by omission.
10. Behave in an adult manner. No tit for tat, he said-she said behavior.

Can you do all of that?

Do forgive me, but you started this thread on 8/8/2009 by 'giving vent' on a hacking issue with your bf. That started this whole thread and was the basis for many comments.
I see now that you edited the original thread on the day after and key information is now missing.(Maybe I have this wrong due to English and American differences with the order of numerals in a date.(You say 9/11, we say 11/9 for example)
Anyway, I feel that amending a starter to a thread is perhaps not the best way forward unless there is a good reason, and I appreciate we all have that right. However, without the first posting as it was, I think the whole of this thread does not really have a basis.
If you look at the first thread as it stands now, I doubt if you would have had any replies at all.
