Man from internet chat

Hey,
I recently met a man via an online chat who became really precious to me. we had great conversations, and even phoned a couple nights til early morning.
we exchanged pictures (not just the naughty ones), and were really intimate.
Now he never shows up again in the chat, and never reacts to my emails.
Does anyone of you have made similar experiences? Does an online mate ever become reality? Or is everyone just faking on the net? I was not, and feel really bumped now... If you have an advice, or can tell me anything about the issue, thanks a lot.

You never know a person until you meet them in person. Don't ever think that you do.

It happens. How long has he been out of contact? If it's just a day or two, you're overreacting. If it's been weeks, then you have reason to be bummed

Well, I haven't heard from him for almost a week (Monday night was the last time, today is Saturday). we phoned over the net - so, as long as he isn't online, I can't call, unfortunately....

Don't get attached to someone you have never REALLY met.

I guess you are right, that's a lesson I just learned... I was getting VERY attached and attracted.

That can be dangerous as well, its easy to lie when your not talking to someone face to face in person. About yourself, or true intentions..

There's too many unknowns on the other end of the computer to let yourself get too emotionally involved. I know a couple of married guys that have online dates just for kicks. Until you meet someone face to face and know what they are all about be very, very cautious. There's a lot of bad people in this world.

The "funny" thing is, I met many guys like that, being married and just looking for kicks in the chatrooms. That was okay. With this one, it all seemed to be different. But you are probably right - a lot of bad people in this world. Still, I was (even am) hoping he was different.

That is very true. I have been advised to try online dating by one member on this site and by a friend of mine who met his finance on Myspace. I don't trust it because of the risk.
