Age Of Consent For Sex

Does anyone happen to know the age of consent? I know that it's probably different in different states but I was just curious to know if anyone knew? Is 18 and 16 considered illegal? Some states are more laid back on it than others are. I'd appreciate some feedback.

can't give much more feedback than that really, but since your location says virginia i'd say that 18 and 16 is illegal.

The effective age of consent is 18 with an ostensible close in age exception of 15 for those under 18.

so if you were 17, then it would work, but it seems to me that 18 is a no go.

You can always go to your state's government website (probably www.virginia.gov or you can google it). There's probably a way to search through state code.

thanks. It's just my boyfriend is slightly younger than me and I don't want to get into any trouble. His parents are aware of my age and they don't have any problem with it what so ever. It's just that I'm turning 18 in 4 months and he'll still be younger than that.
