Just say no!
I've been trying to tell my ex for the past three months that I don't have feelings for her anymore. I've told her I've have moved on from her years ago. We haven't been together in over three years now but for some odd reason she still has this little strength of hope. I don't know how any times I can turn her down. I mean she's a good friend and that's all she'll ever be. Plus, I'm not into females like that anymore. I use to but I've shared enough heartbreaks with both genders. I'm more attracted to males now. So how else do I tell her no?

On a really direct approach. Say that you don't want to loose her friendship, but she's strechting the line too much.

I think you will just have to cut off all communication. I don't see how anyone can be friends with an ex, I've tried a few times, and it hasn't worked out at all. You may be the type of person who can, but it's obvious that she can't. I say just cut her off all together, she won't change.

Had you done anything that she may have interpretted as a rekindled interest? Maybe she read into something you said, saw something in a look you gave, that she alone viewed as a sign. I know that when I've been interested in certain girls, that I tended to look for even the minutest hints that she was into me, and often making too much out of a simple phrase or brief graze.
