first real date

Okay I have been working on this girl for sometime.... almost a year now. Its been a slow process and one main reason is that she is REALLY shy. At first she only seemed interested in me after she had been drinking and able to open up. To make a long story short because of her shyness I often questioned if she was really interested in me. (we have hooked up a few times but usually after we met up at a party or something like that, she had been drinking but not drunk) Anyway what I can gather from her friends and just from experiences is that she does really like me but is so shy shes often scared to talk to me.

So finally I got her to go see a movie with me. And although I'm not really nervous myself I really would like to get her to open up. Many times when I try starting conversations with her she just shoots back short answers and kinda looks down at the ground (btw kills me because she has the most amazing eyes). I was wondering if anyone has some good conversation starter ideas that may get even a shy girl to open up. Preferably about her week or whatever.

Ask her about herself, what she enjoys doing, does in her spare time? Find a common interest which you share to open up the conversation. Does she love pets? Thoughts on a hobby which you might share. When she looks down or away, tell her it's difficult to hear her when she is looking down, when she looks up & speaks, tell her you can hear her more easily. Encourage her to look at you...

Generally women love to talk about themselves, if men show interest. LOL! I hope she is not a total introvert!
