Talking about past lovers

There is this girl I have been talking to for the past couple of days and I think shes into me, We have had more than a few decent conversations and have maded good eye contact during then. The last time I saw her I was about to ask her out but she began to talk about her last boy friend along with a much younger kid who had become infatuated with her. I'm not sure but can this be a sign that she jsut want to remain firends or could it be just harmless small talk. Is there a reason why women bring up the discussion of their past loves when talking to a man who is interested in them?

They just want to make sure that YOU TOTALLY UNDERSTAND exactly where the bar is set....it could be too low for you or too high for you...it's a ploy they try to sort out the weakminded males!! LOL
