Age difference

Well i currently started seeing this lass i know who has just turned 16, im not far off turning 19,
is the age gap ok with the laws n stuff, cause im not quite aware of it, i know that if she was under 16 when we had it it would be.

My parents say that because im over the age of 18 i can get in trouble if i was to have intercourse with a 16 year old... is this true?

as far as i'm aware thats not true - if she were under 16 and you were caught having intercourse it would be classed as rape in a court of law. however, i think your parents are just trying to discourage you!

It's a contrast to what we are used to but there has been so many posts re:age of consent so I figured it would be interesting to compare.

i am almost 100% positive there is no such law in the uk.

I would find it hard to believe that the UK would not have a law...it's for reasons such as Public Policy...
