phone with shy girl

this is kinda a weird question but in a weird situation.

There is a girl I really like (we go to the same college) and from her friends I know shes interested in me too. However, unless she has had a drink or two she is really the most shy person I have met. She seems intimidated to talk to me especially if I call her, like shes so freaked she has to hurry up the conversation and get off the phone. Normally I would take this as a girl not interested in me and would move on. However, I have been told she is into me. I'm just having trouble getting her to be comfortable with me.

When I do get her to open up a bit everything seems fine. I have stayed at her place a few times, made out with her, slept in the same bed but then the next time I see her its almost like she has the first time you meet jitters all over again......have tried to take it slow. I know shes been hurt before and dont want to scare her.

I was wondering if I should give her a call and put her in this awkward position for her or wait till the weekend to talk to her because I know I'll probably run into her sometime.

my roommates have said to just give up on her but I know I'll regret it if I do, I really like her.

as far as the phone part goes some people just dont like talking on the phone. i know cause im one of them. get me on the phone and ill do everything i can to get off so it might not be that she doesnt want to talk to u.

for the rest of it just be her friend and hang out with her alot. thats what i did with my girl and eventually she got really comfortable with me. so much so that she can change her clothes in front of me while carrying on a face to face conversation and she doesnt care and even loses her clothing just for me.

so just stick with it and sooner or later she will come around. just dont rush the "wanting to be in a relationship" part. being a friend that she lets play with her can be good too and it helps build trust and further develope the friendship into more than just a friendship

Yeah, I'm a bit like that too. I sometimes get very nervous and uptight about making a phone call, but I'm usually ok meeting someone face to face. I don't know why that is, you'd think it would be the other way round. Could be something to do with the lack of body language over the phone, perhaps.
