When is it more than Lust

when you meet someone and everything clicks and you both agree you are in total "lust" with each other, when do you know it is more?

I tend to move too rapidly into these things and interpret tender touches and sweet kisses (as opposed to lustful, hot ripping clothes off) and kind words and thoughts as the beginnings of love feelings.

I frequently get hurt and am today telling myself to just relax, but I wonder what others experience.
