"getting tested"
K I really want to know whats involved with getting an std check up. or whatever its called. just getting checked up to make sure that you're std free I guess. I've never had it done and I've only been with 1 girl, but my current lady I love the **** out of and I want to do everything to make sure we work out. I'd appreciate advice from dancing doc cause he's a huge know it all.
I live in good ol canada, so canadian advice would be appraciated (meaning costs and what not. is it covered by OHIP?) do I go to my regular doctor or a special doctor. I'd rather not go to my regular doc, he gave birth to me and I couldn't look at him the same after he checked around my pecker for std's, I'd feel like a total loser. I apologize for the hectic-ness of my post. I had to get it all out before my brain **** the bed and I forgot things. thanks. |

I only know about the US, so ... whatever. But:
It involves a swab (as described, but they don't stick it that far up there, so don't be scared) and the usual cup of pee. At least where I live in the US, there are clinics or hospitals that will do it for you anonymously. Some go out of their way about the anonymity (e.g. they don't take your name at all, and give you a number that you can use to call in check your results), others take a name, but they don't ask for ID and so far as I can tell, they're well aware that you may be using a fake name. Don't use "Brad Pitt," though. Oh, the heck with it, go ahead. The anonymity doesn't exactly work with insurance, of course. I don't know how the system works in Canada, but I guess that might be problem. The cost is not insignificant, if you include all the tests (such as AIDS). Some clinics in the US give a break to people based on income. Of course, all that's probably different in Canada also. |
