ok im 18 having a fun time livin it up in cali but theres these two girls one of them i have been friends with for a long time and the other i just met for the first time at a dance and we really hit it off.

The one i have known for a while is starting to get more close and we kinda have a thing going. but i like the other girl more then my long time friend because i cant really see her then anything more then a friend.

but i have a feeling i would have a great time with my friend but i really dont know what to do or who to choose or how to choose. AND THERES A CATCH THE TWO GIRLS ARE BEST FRIENDS!

Um... Can you please clarify the below points - is this what you meant to say?
*There are 2 girls (they are best friends)
*You have an intimate relationship with one, but you desire the other
*You wonder whether you desire the other just because you can't have her
*You don't know what to do, or who to choose to be with

My advice: To protect your "eggs", keep them in separate baskets.
In otherwords, don't mess around with friends of friends. In the same vain, do not mess with ex's of friends.

I've been friends with this girl for a while(just friends!)

I met her best friend at a dance a week ago and had a great time dancing and talking with her.

Now all the sudden my long time friend is starting to get a little closer and i dont have the same feelings she has.

So idk what to do - tell her how i feel and go after her best friend - because we're not even going out yet or doing anything we started getting closer 3 days ago. so its not even like a realationship. Will she get mad if i like her friend more then her or what? im just confusing myself.

Im probably just gonna stick with what i got so i dont **** up their friendship

...thx for the advise but theres one thing my school doesnt have alot of -- thats potention when it comes to the ladies so when i met this other girl and we had such a great time togethor i already know theres no one else at my school like her. :/
