So there's this girl in the gym...

...She's friggin' gorgeous! I'd really like to talkt to her, at least get her name, but I've no idea how to approach her. I see her about every other time I'm in the gym working out. Once in a while I'll catch her gaze, but can't quite tell if it's a look of interest or if she's simply looking in my direction. To be honest I don't really think the gym is the most conducive environment for stiking up conversations with the opposite sex. For one, most people are fixated on maintaining their workout regimen, myself included, so small talk can sometimes be irratating. Now, I'm not so anal that something like that would bother me, but I've experienced many people for which this is the case. And two, also the purpose of this post, how do you strike up a conversation in an environment like that? Anyone who works out without a partner like myself knows that lots of people tend to be almost anthropophobiac, so it's almost out of place whan a person approaches you to talk if it's something other than, "hey can I get a spot?". Unfortunatly for me, this is the only place I ever see her. I just need help with the approach. To make matters worse, I haven't exactly got any "game". Talking to girls is definitly not my forte. But, I'm making an attempt to get over my shyness and turn over a new leaf. Help a guy out!!!

Well, one of the approaches PUA's (pick up artists) take when meeting women is 'cocky and funny'. Women LOVE this and will react greatly to this if you pull it off correctly. Basically a cocky and funny opener would be like "Hey, I saw you checking me out over there, I'm going to have to start charging."

If you say it in such a way, where she knows you're being playful, and not a total ass, then you're well on your way. I assume you're a big boy and can work out conversation from then on.

If you're really bad, then revert back to pop culture, women love celebrity goss, movies etc..

first of all, please PLEASE dont try any retarted pickup lines. this is cheasy (for the most part) and annoying. just make sure you catch her eye and just like if you walk past her make sure to say hi. then just like work up to talking to her. then one day when you see her, just walk up and like casually say "hey, i see you here all the time. my names ----." and there you go. you dont need game. you just need to be friendly.

mr sexy has a good idea. sometimes cocky guys are realy hot, but its hard to pull off.

Please DON'T be cocky, you will come across as a total ass for sure. Especially if your shy. Try catching her on her way out of the gym. Assess what she looks like, what she is wearing or anything that you think you might have something in common with her. The easiest way to talk to a girl is to have a topic that you have in common. You both like to work out right? You there offten, use that.

You only have gym with her? or do u have other classes? You could always find her after school but girls are usually surrounded by friends or something.
