Definitions

Well it occured to me I am a bit low on specific definitions and this one just came to mind perhaps it is time to start a little list and perhaps make it a sticky ?
Well the question: what is the diference between going out as friends and dating do you tell her: this is a date obviously I'm talking about two people on their own in either case, or is it just a matter that you are dating if you are going out as friends and have romantic inclinations that you both aknowledge ? of course I am forgetting the obvious date where two people that just hardly know each other got out together to get to know one anothher but then again they could just be friends at the end of the day ? I hope I made my point
This thread was inspired by another where a girl says hey I just realized I have a boyfriend we been going out together so long and just never said it to one another before, get my cue ?
please also bear in mind i am refering to England mainly as I know there are some diferences in other feilds so I wounder. . .

There is no set definition. As awkward as it might seem, just talk to her. If you can't communicate about your relationship, it might as well not exist.

ahem no there is no relationship as such yet i was just curios especially after the post I mentioned I began to wounder.
so basically I will say going out as friends if that is exactly what you want to remain and "going out" and dating as either going out with a friend with the intention of furthering knowledge of one another and going out with someone new with the intention of getting to know one another.

Well yes... one should never assume he or she is in a relationship without first checking with the other person involved.

but over the phone is not the time for that, she did say once that when she came over to stay (we are in different countries) she had things to talk with me about as on the phone was not the time and place, at the time I was telling her some things that were not exactly highly confidential but not thhe sort of thing you tell the world.

Just as you should never break up with someone over the phone, you should never ask them out over the phone. This in turn applies to defining the exact nature of your relationship. Good luck when you next see her.
