How do you know if someone cares for you or not?

I dont know where to start. I dont know if its the birth control pills that I am on that make me feel depressed. Anyways, I have been with my bf, for over a year, I love him dearly. I guess the problem is I wonder how he feels about me. We talk on the phone every night and see each other at least once a week cause we live about 30 mins from each other without traffic. I am a full time student, I work, and I have a young child. He works full time. I guess I am always thinking that he will leave me or cheat on me. He is 11 yrs my senior, I am 21. When we are together, either of us is really affectionate. I guess I just wish I knew where I stood with him.

have you spoken to him about it? i know it's difficult to bring the topic up for the fear of losing him but for your own confidence and peace of mind i suggest you do.

my boyfriend and i had to deal with my insecurities few times in our first year, we almost split up because i was getting too worried etc. but i truely believe that if i hadn't voiced my worries i would have definitely srlit from him by now...(i tended to walk away when i could not deal with the pressure of my own worries and insecurities)...

Speak to him, tell him how you feel, where you think your relationship is heading and ask him if he feels the same way...if he does - great, if he doesn't - at least you'll know his answer, and if there is anything to be done to make your relationship stronger that would be the moment to discuss it.

side note on the birth control, when I was on it, it made me very depressed... I suggest talking to your doctor about it... Once I broke up with my ex i went off of birth control... because of how it was making me feel, not to mention I never wanted sex when I was on bc as well
