I have been with my bf for a year now and for xmas, he bought me something that I really wasn't too happy about, anyways, to get to the point, does the gift a person buys you, or how much it cost, does that show how they really feel about you?

In my opinion, no. It sounds like this relationship is pretty new so he might not know what you like! Also, guys don't think things through as much as us girls do when it comes to a gift. Now, if it was your 5 year anniversary and he bought you a t-shirt, then I'd worry a bit...
