Just too young to start a real relationship

I'm 18 and have only had one relationship, it lasted me 2 years but ended about 5 months ago. Now i had no attatchments to him after the relationship ended. But now as explore the world of dating i am finding that guys from the age 17-20 or older are not looking for a serious relationship. Now i was told that the smart thing to do at this time is just ride the game through because my age group doesn't date seriously but to use the time for expirence. I have bin using my time to just explore new things but i wanted to know why does a guy my age or older not look for a serious relationship? Most guys i meet are just looking for a quicky and want to be friends afterwards...now i have not given into anything like that but i do fool around with them a bit, but what catchs me is after that we talk for a few weeks the guy wants to get serious in a relationship...yet by that time im over him and haven't had a second thought about them. So if someone can tell me what makes them click into that mode after i have past the thought of dating them.

I agree that people in our age group (I'm 19) should just have fun experiencing all different things and just "ride the game through" as you say. But everyones different, i know heaps of guys our age looking for a long-term committed relationship. I can't really help you with your question but just wondering- How long do you know these guys for before they take interest? maybe they are just waiting until they get to know you a bit better before they get serious?
