Long distance advice

Hi everyone, new to the forum...

I've just got into my first relationship with a girl and you will have no idea about the amount of problems im having already. Basically the biggest one is im off to university next month and im going to leave her behind.

We have said we love each other but she says she doesn't want to "go out with me" when I leave but just be seeing her. We've been going out for 3 and half months now and before me she had a yearlong relationship with someone else.

Now she tells me she is doing this because it is easier on her so she can concentrate on her collage work and won't feel so emotional about it. Also because I’m going to uni she thinks I will cheat on her. Also she said she won't go out with anyone else for about another year.

Just a few questions. I felt devastated when she told me this, like I was being dumped. Is there anything I'm missing here? Any general advice?
