I met my partner 7 years ago on AOL! We chatted for an hour online, set a time to meet for a drink......went back to his house to decorate his xmas tree......3 months later we were living together, a year after that we got "married" and have been together ever since!

ONLINE DOES WORK if you're honest with who u are, and what you are all about - my old profile NEVER said i was "looking"....rather..it was a nice summary of what my everyday life was like....THAT is how he found me..and thats lead to many years of happieness!

Moral of the "ONLINE MEETING" story: If your online profile looks like a cheap add from the "lonely-hearts society" and is full of info about the person YOU are looking for, trust me, you're fighting an uphill battle. In your profile you should talk about YOU. What makes YOU happy, what brings YOU joy every day. NOT FANTASIES ...reality. Online meetings CAN and DO lead to wonderful relationships...but it's all about honesty on line..... a rare commodity now adays!

my meeting my girlfriend was somewhat different for me but it has worked out. i had a friend at school who was on a certain messageboard who told me that this girl from that messageboard had just broken up with her boyfriend so i should go after it. i joined that messageboard and post stalked her for a few days, then got her AIM name and we started chatting via AIM on a daily basis. we talked on AIM for about 3 and a half months, then i finally met her at a club and she was so cute. we've been together for six months since.

I met my bf through a good friend of ours who also happens to be my bandmate. We hung out a few times, talked online, then one day, we opened up to each other a bit, started to get close, and fell in love, walked arund each toher on egg shells not being able to say that we wanted to be with each other for a bit, and finally one night we confessed. That was about 8 months ago, and we're leaving together now with our roomie being the guy who introduced us and there is a promise ring on my finger for the last few weeks
