Hey all! This is my first post here! I've read in some of the other posts that some of you have found companions online. I was just wondering where you met them at? I've spent some time in yahoo messanger chat rooms, but they really haven't been all that great. Let me know, maybe i'm looking in the wrong spot. Thanks!

doesnt matter where they met them, cos it doesnt mean it'll increase your chances.
acutally try and go out of our house to look for people, internet is a pretty poor way of knowing ppl, especially to date with. actually meeting people and then interacting with them will definietly be more satisfying and fun. |

oh i agree about going out of the house to meet people! i was just wondering what places they were that they met the people because the chatrooms i've been in seem to have a bunch of immature people and cyberfreaks in them.

you can use ICQ, (i found my ex-gf there :P), it has a great tool to find people, you just tell it what age, gender, country, state, city, or what ever, and it will find it for u. You can download it at www.download.com

I met my partner on AOL. Yep, it CAN work. Just have to be honest in y0our profile and pics.
There are lots of people out there who HAVE used the internet to meet their spouse, but only those who are REAL, andnot using the internet as a way of being someone they are not. Just have to be patient, and keep your expecations at a reasonable level.

Where you meet people will depend on what you mean by "companions."
If you're looking for something semi-serious, I would be wary of AIM, YIM, ICQ, MSN and etc. Being that they are large, well known and used by many people also means that there are more people on them who will be dishonest, if not downright nuts. You may get lucky, or you may get hurt. |

I agree with Mike and others. Sometimes, these internet sites are so huge - it does become difficult. I've been on Lavalife (www.lavalife.com) since Aug. 2002, and recently, on Friendfinder (www.friendfinder.com). To use services such as e-mail or instant messaging, members have to pay (on Lavalife). I have not met anyone serious -- just met a lot of guys who seem sincerely searching. I have heard of several successful, continuing relationships (those who met on Laalife) -- so, I figured, why not give it a try. You need a lot of patience. Some friends/acquaintances have become quite discouraged. And, be wary of game players -- but, that's also part of life. Have fun and good luck.
