I'm rather confused right now, having gotten a whole bunch of conflicting information from different people, all of whom I would normally believe, so I figured that perhaps I'd be able to find the real answers here.
I'm 19 years old, male and a virgin. I've been with my girlfriend for a bit over two years and our physical relationship is very low-key. I have never orgasmed with her (although she has) and neither preformed nor received oral sex. A couple days ago my girlfriend and I did a pregnancy test because we were worried. I was a little worried, wheras she as bordering on paranoia. So I'd like some one to please tell me if what I know is true or false. It seems that all of the sex-ed we are taught in school is in relation to sex itself, and not what comes before.
How much semen is there in pre-cum?
Does semen/pre-cum/cum actually die instantly in open air or water? Does this include saliava?
Can you get pregnant if you are a virgin?
Although we have no plans on having sex, because I see no reason to push and she is highly religious, I would like her to get on the pill. She refuses on the basis that it "screws up your hormones". I don't know enough about it to refute this statement, so I'm asking you: is that true? Is it something that is actually a worry, or is this just an excuse?

How did you not orgasm with her? I thought that young guys always came during intercourse.
Sorry, I guess I did not make myself clear. We have not had sex. And also, she's just not very good at hand?
I'm confused here if you have not had sex and you haven't orgasmed with her..how could she possibly be pregnant, what exactly are the circumstances for your cause for worry?

How much semen is there in pre-cum?
**Can be present based on stimulation an how long ago you may have masturbated. Mere presence if pre-cum in contact with the vaginal fluids [which also includes the anal area] can lead to an unplanned pregnancy--virgin or not.
Does semen/pre-cum/cum actually die instantly in open air or water? Does this include saliava? No, they take a few days to die. They need an optimal condition to live in though. So wash your hands always. And if you have have fluid from your penis on your hands do not touch her vulva. Saliva, if she swallows, no that will not get her pregnant. I see no reason you would have it [semen/sperm] in your mouth. But no it does not die immediately unless it's placed in a spermicide.
Can you get pregnant if you are a virgin? Yes. I had one patient who was a virgin, her boyfriend ejaculated routinely on her and her hymen was very much intact. There was no appearance either had a clue that pregnancy was a possibility. Brandye can also tell you she had diagnosed a patient with a positive pregnancy from anal alone. The semen leaked to the vaginal fluids. All it takes in one swimmer to get to an egg.

Asking her to just take the pill??? No. If you two are fooling around [having foreplay or heavy petting] and there is a chance of semen in contact with her...you use a condom & she inserts a spermicide prior to anything. Regular induction of hormones for a no good reason; I would not suggest. However, if you are going to be sexually active you do need to prepare.
I assume you both are "fooling around" and not having intercourse? If not even fooling around with foreplay I would ask why the pregnancy test.
Any time there is a chance of a penis without a condom in direct contact or about to come in contact with a vulva & vagina--you need to use precautions. No semen near the unprotected female genital--pregnancy & STD's are a big issue.
CONDOMS and it is YOUR responsibility to protect yourself.
BTW The Pill does NOT do anything other than make your body think it is pregnant by releasing the same hormones the body would do if it were pregnant. So it really does NOT "mess up your hormones".
Your sex Ed obviously taught you both NOTHING!
I have delivered babies from women with completely intact hymens. Yes, virgins do become pregnant.
Thank you for the information.
No, they take a few days to die. They need an optimal condition to live in though. So wash your hands always.
I kindof didn't understand this part, since it seems contradictory. You say that it takesa few days to die, but requires optimal conditions to live. And then to wash my hands always? Sorry, I don't quite follow.
If in the correct PH, with a warm moist climate they will live. Meaning if you get it in vaginal fluids they will live for days. Use a good antibacterial soap to wash well such as if you have cum on your hand it becomes a non-issue after washing. Also spermicides used will also kill them.
If exposed to air they do not just "die off" once they hit the air. Time life when exposed to air? Not certain, but recall men do donate sperm to sperm banks & placed in a jar and cared for they live.
Yeah I'm confused too-if you're both virgins and you've never orgasmed, how is anything getting inside her to worry you?
Yeah I'm confused too-if you're both virgins and you've never orgasmed, how is anything getting inside her to worry you?
The real part that confused me; why is she taking a pregnancy test?
Because she knows next to nothing about sex, she's feeling guilty for having gone so far, and she's scared to death - that's why she wants a pregnancy test.
Proper sex education would solve all of this.
